BAGHDAD ,19 August 2014 – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has been able to scale up food assistance to hundreds of thousands of Iraqis displaced from their homes in recent weeks thanks to a generous contribution of US$148.9 million from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Erbil , 18 August 2014 -  Humanitarian health services in Iraq have received a much-needed boost through a $US50 million grant provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to WHO for its response to health crises facing millions of people affected by the on-going conflict.

Baghdad, 19 August 2014 – "Today, 19 August, as we remember our fallen colleagues who perished in an attack on the UN Headquarters in Baghdad 11 years ago, we must also pay tribute to the countless national and international humanitarian workers in Iraq who continue to face danger and adversity to bring lifesaving assistance to those in need, and remember their sacrifices", the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq (SRSG), Mr. Nickolay Mladenov said.

14 August 2014 - In Syria, and as part of its response to the Yazidi situation in neighbouring Iraq, UNHCR has begun transporting newly arriving refugees from the border area to the Newroz camp near Al Qamishli, some 60 kilometres to the west.
