Organised by the Baghdad Foundation for Cinema and Arts at Art City, with support from UN Human Rights Iraq, the Festival featured twenty-four human rights films under the Human Rights and Minorities category, which were directed by talented Iraqis and produced in Iraq. Each film illustrated the impact of discrimination against minorities, violence against women, conflict atrocities, access to education or other human rights concerns in a three-minute film. These films portray loss and human suffering but also the resilience and the strength of Iraqis, conveying powerful messages about issues of great importance to Iraq in its transition from conflict to peace.
