Act now! Invest in Education

Iraq was considered as one of the countries that had the best educated people in the whole region.  The results of educational reform in the 1970s and 1980s appear clearly in the high rate of the educated people among the adults of the whole population.  Today, however, the future of more than 950,000 Iraqi children and adolescents is at stake.  They are at risk of being deprived of their fundamental right to education.  The school year in Iraq has been disrupted for the better part of the year due to the scale of ongoing conflict between armed terrorist groups and the Iraqi Security Forces, which began in Anbar Governorate in late December 2013, resulting in massive internal displacement of people in the country.
